13.1.5 Barrier Creams and Ointments

PROSHIELD SPRAY:

Only to be used for incontinence that cannot be removed with soap substitute and where the skin is broken.

Continue for 5 days – if no improvements please refer to CN or TV.

Once resolved return to At Risk Pathway

Proshield needs to be reapplied after every encounter of incontinence

PROSHIELD CREAM: 

Only used by Specialist Initiation

Only be used for short term use and if the skin is broken
