Multi-dose bottles are 1st line preservative-free option, while unit-dose formulations are the 2nd line preservative-free option if the prescriber feels multi-dose is not suitable for any particular patient e.g. silver hypersensitivity, difficulty using the multi-dose bottle or any specific indication-related concern
